Nurse Betsy

I'm having very mixed feelings about this.

I found a job! I'll be on Baird 3 (the orthopedic and urology floor) at Fletcher Allen Medical Center. I'm excited to have a job and the extra income, despite the graveyards.

My real complaint is that I have to do hosptial orientation. That means Lizzy has to go into daycare. I'm more nervous about that than starting a new job.

So if anyone is looking for a week and 2 day vacation in Vermont -- and spending quality time with Eliza, just let us know.
(Hint. Hint.)

P.S. I think we have a chipmunk living in our rain gutter.

Our House

I thought about making everyone wait to see our house until you come to visit. But I won't.

So this blog is going to be about our house, as indicated in the title. We haven't quite finished unpacking yet, but we're close. So here's the pictures.

If you don't want to see them, just skip this blog. We won't be offended.

In no particular order. . .

Our front. Unit G2.
If you look closely, Dallin's in the window.

Upstairs bathroom.

Master bedroom.

Lizzy's room (with Lizzy).

Basement Family Room
(with Lizzy and Dallin -- Miss Potter playing in the background.
Great movie. Talk about a sobber.).

Other half of Family Room.
The door goes to back yard.
(Please ignore our dinner dishes.)

Basement Bathroom -- the one you will get to use when you come to visit.
I know the sinks puny, but at least it will be your own.

Living Room.
The deck has a great view of the trees.
I'll post pictures when the leaves change. I'm anxiously awaiting.

Other half of the Living Room.
You like the blanket holding up the A/C unit?
Nice touch.

Our Kitchen.
Again, minuscule, but pretty.
(And the refrigerator is currently working.
No guarantee as to how long that will last.)

And the Dining Room.

Nothing fancy, but it's beginning to feel like home.

Vermont At Last

I could tell you all about our new home, job interviews, trees in our back yard, humidity, spiders, unpacking, window air units, the lake, the river, wild flowers growing on the road side, but we'll get there later.
This lovely appliance is our refrigerator, or at least it's supposed to be. We bought it with our house, only to find out that it doesn't work. It is the bane of my Vermont existence. We didn't notice until checking the ice cube tray a day later and spilling water from non-ice. Lovely. So, until it can be fixed or replaced, we have a make-shift refrigerator.

It makes it feel like we're still on vacation.
