This is the season that apple picking is the main topic of conversation amongst Vermonters. There are several orchards where you can pick your own.
They even provide optimum apple picking tools -- to ensure you get the best apples -- cause every one knows the apples at the top of the tree are always the best -- the ones right out of reach.
(And my dad always looking spiffy in the appropriate attire.)
Come to find out, my dad's actually an old pro at this. He picked apples "professionally" as a kid.
Obviously, anything having to do with food is Lizzy's favorite activity.
